How I take over your site
Before touching anything, I get the lay of the land.
What I check first
- the versions of WordPress or PrestaShop, of PHP and of every plugin;
- anything changed “by hand”: edited core files, a theme modified without a child theme;
- backups: do they exist, and can they actually be restored?
- security: admin accounts, forgotten logins, known vulnerabilities;
- the site’s speed and its hosting;
- access: hosting, database, domain name.
You then receive a clear, jargon-free review: what’s fine, what’s urgent, and what can wait. You decide with all the facts in hand.
And I never work directly on the live site: I make changes on a copy, check that everything works, and only then go live.

Don’t panic. I clean up the site, track down how the attacker got in to shut that door, change every login and apply the missing updates. Then I explain in plain words what happened, and what was done so it doesn’t happen again.
